Tonbridge Angels delivered an outstanding away performance, taking full control at the Beveree and running out deserved 0–3 winners. Angels were aggressive out of possession, clinical in transition, and showed the kind of collective work rate that wins difficult away games.
Playing on the left wing, Tom Leahy put in another big shift for the team, influencing the match far beyond what appears on the surface. His role constantly flexed — at times operating as a left winger, drifting into the No.10 pocket, and even stepping up into centre-forward positions to press and stretch Hampton’s back line. His closing down was aggressive and purposeful, repeatedly forcing rushed passes and turnovers that set the tone for Tonbridge’s intensity.
Tom also produced several well-timed, clever off-the-ball runs, breaking into pockets of space behind the defence. A couple of these movements were excellent attacking opportunities that simply weren’t picked up early enough by team-mates; on a different day, those runs could easily have led to chances or even goals.
Overall, it was a performance built on hard running, adaptability, and tactical discipline — the kind of contribution that helps a team dominate an away fixture and protect a lead. A strong, team-focused showing from Leahy inside a commanding Tonbridge win.
